"My alarm went off the next morning and I was astonished to realize how deeply I had slept all night."
Recently I saw a post online about banana tea being for sleep. Lately I've been suffering from a bit of insomnia, so after seeing my roommate who is from India use the concoction each night at bedtime I decided to try it as well. For some reason I was terribly nervous about what the tea would taste like but there's absolutely nothing to fear regarding the taste. Delicious would even be an understatement. This tea tastes like sweet liquid banana happiness!
I prepared the tea by literally cutting an organic banana in half,(my pot was small) boiling it for about ten minutes and that was it. I poured the murky liquid into a cup and drank it. Its very important however to be sure the banana is organic. Otherwise you will be drinking lots of pesticides.
Bananas are loaded with potassium and magnesium. The magnesium is what is supposed to help you get a nice deep sleep and the potassium acts as a muscle relaxer. I'm not very sensitive to things making me sleepy so I won't say that it knocked me out. The tea did however make me feel very calm and zen. What happened when I did fall asleep however was nothing short of a miracle. My alarm went off the next morning and I was astonished to realize how deeply I had slept all night. Also my legs, which are always sore and tight felt much better. I loved the banana tea so much I drank three cups the next afternoon, chilled out and had another fantastic night's sleep. It felt like drinking wine, without the drunk feeling that creeps up.
Not to be dramatic but this banana tea has changed my life for the better. I have added it my my diet permanently and always make sure that I have organic bananas in the house just to ensure that I can have my tea. I was unnescarily nervous about how trying it but now that I have I can't stop. Life is just much better with banana tea. I can relax from a long day and my body feels great from the additional magnesium and potassium. I highly recommend trying it. I'd love to know how it makes you feel.
