Diet of course plays a big part in your chakra alignment. If we are not putting the right things into our body we can not expect to feel good and our mind, body and spirituality are all connected. Diet is a very touchy subject for me personally. I have been vegetarian for cultural reasons, not health reasons for 28 years. I am not vegan and enjoy butter, cheese and honey sparingly but still way too much to say that I will ever become a vegan.
Almost every healer you will meet will tell you to adapt to a vegan diet and I won't deny that I have also experienced the health benefits of a vegan diet. While this diet may be healthy for some the actuality of everyone in the world becoming vegan is not likely. I personally prefer not to ostracize people when discussing diet and try to be respectful of everyone's culture and traditions regardless of my own opinions. I wish more people did the same. We are all human beings and no one is perfect. I refuse to preach to people about a vegan diet and have no desire to meet others that do. You have to meet people where they're at and take everything in moderation. So now you know where I stand on that aspect.
Having been a vegetarian for most of my life I know nothing about meat. But what I do know a lot about is fruits and vegetables! And since red is the color of the root chakra, you can look to a lot of red foods to help you stay balanced and grounded. Tomatoes, cherries, apples and pomegranates are all red foods that are healthy and easy options. You think of root chakra foods, you want to remember the earth element and bring your mind back to the ground. Potatoes, parsnips, carrots. onion, garlic, radishes, anything that roots itself in the ground will also help you stay grounded!
