My guru put me on a 90 day detox pretty promptly after looking into my eyes. Apparently he's able to see what things I need just by looking at me. And after doing some research I now see how easy it is to look at someone and tell what they need. For example there are some pretty recognizable facial symptoms of hypothyroidism and body symptoms of adrenal gland fatigue. I originally said I would do 21 days since this detox also includes bread but now I feel so good I not only want to go the full 90 days but I want to make this a life change. Sure I will go back to having some bread and beers every now and then but much more sparingly because honestly I was downright overdosing.
Now just as a disclaimer my guru is working as my doctor and not only healing me physically but guiding me mentally and spiritually. Since I have suffered from many health issues in the past that western doctors have either brushed aside, prescribed a drug which usually didn't work or offered only a reference to another doctor, I have chosen to take an alternative route. I am sharing only my experiences and results and in no way advise others to complete the same plan as I am. I only hope that the information shared may assist someone somehow at some point.
As you know I'm taking iodine and it has helped me to feel amazing pretty immediately (within two days). Every few days I'm also drinking a small glass of extra virgin olive oil to aid in digestion. I should really be doing this already but since I am on a bread detox the olive oil makes me think of bread immediately so I'm easing into this slowly. Olive oil aids in weight loss and acts like ibuprofen in easing pain so it's good to keep it in your diet one way or another. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), which I hate has now become a staple of my morning and evening routine. I am simply adding a little water and taking it like a shot that I usually have to drink in two or three tries. After a week I still hate the taste. It burns and is disgusting but I find myself craving it. I know that there are many drinks that I can make but the last time I tried this I stopped taking the ACV altogether so since I don't want to do that chugging it is best for me for more. I have felt changes in my bloating in my stomach but not much else. Yet if I'm craving it, it must be doing it's job.
I've added moringa to my daily plan as it has a lot of the things my body was lacking such as vitamins A,C, calcium and protein. At home in the Caribbean I have this tree right in my front yard so I get it a lot. When I'm abroad I have to go more than 10 paces so I'm taking it in powder form and adding it to yogurt and fruit shakes. Moringa also helps with inflammation and since I have a genetic osteoarthritis , I need this greatly.
I am also taking turmeric although I have not figured out exactly how I like it. I tried golden turmeric milk with almond milk, turmeric and honey but wasn't impressed. Perhaps I needed to add a lot more honey. I think I will try it with coconut milk next time also. Right now since I am in southeast Asia and there is an abundance of fruit shakes I am drinking it with passion fruit mango or passion fruit orange shakes. It adds a little spice and is delicious. Any time I don't enjoy the taste of something I simply put it in a small amount of water and take a shot. I figure if I used to take a tequila shot, I can take a shot of something healthy. Turmeric is both anti-inflammatory and a pain-killer so finding a recipe I love in which I can drink this daily is also important to me.
Next I am taking papaya tea. Papaya is a great enzyme for gas, bloating and digestion and the tea is also good for stomach problems. It has a great deal of vitamins A, C and D so it improves mood as well. The leaves are supposed to be good for creating an acne mask so I want to look more into it's topical benefits as well. Thailand has me all about these herbal baths and I have access to plenty of papaya trees at home in the Caribbean so I'm happy I learned about this.
Sorrel or Hibiscus sabdariffa is on herb that I swear by. Now if you have a great deal of toxins in your body drinking this tea (hot) or juice (cold) may cause you to sweat or have an immediate bowel movement. This also grows in my front yard in the Virgin Islands and I drink it as often as possible. It works great in aiding the immune system and if you have a cold or flu at my house I will demand you drink this immediately. It's very high in vitamin C and a great anti-oxidant.
Lastly I hate taking pills so I've opted for one capsule by BioVital which provides me with Wheatgrass, Spirulina and Noni. There's also some turmeric and ginger in there because you can never have enough of those. Now wheatgrass has many benefits because it is one of the best sources of living chlorophyll which has a lot of magnesium. This is going to help me with my adrenal fatigue issues. This purifies the liver and washes toxins out of the body as well as aiding in digestion.
Also contained in this capsule is Spirulina, detoxes heavy metals from the body which is very important in the chakra and consciousness work I've been doing. It also eliminates candida and leaky gut syndrome another chronic issue of mine. Noni is also in this capsule which is a great source of potassium and an anti-inflammatory. When I get home I would prefer to be taking wheatgrass and noni juice and even growing my own wheat grass but for now the capsules will have to do.
As I head to Sri Lanka I will be partaking in a diet of mostly fruits, vegetables, salads, eggs rice and lots of vitamins. I also plan to try fasting for a day or two as well while I am there for spiritual reasons. Be sure to follow me on instagram to see how everything goes
